LOS ANGELES – After the deep freeze and whiteout at the Golden Globes, warmth and color returned in time for the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at downtown’s Shrine Auditorium Sunday. Actresses paraded down the red carpet in a rainbow of colors, from bold brights like Demi Moore’s royal blue Alberta Ferretti and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s fuchsia Carolina Herrera to sophisticated darks like Reese Witherspoon’s steel blue Nina Ricci cocktail number and Ellen Pompeo’s indigo Lanvin column.
This being an awards show, there was also plenty of sparkle in the mix, from Cate Blanchett and Diane Kruger’s gold beaded Armani and Dior, respectively, to Jennifer Hudson’s gold-flecked Michael Kors. Silhouettes took a similarly varied route. On the short end, looks ranged from fun (Rinko Kikuchi’s playful lace babydoll Chanel Couture) to sexy (Heather Graham’s vintage Oscar de la Renta).
