NEW YORK — The recent round of couture shows in Paris didn’t skimp on accessories. The spring lineup had everything from intricate earrings to chunky belts and furry boots.

Some designers took a feminine approach, including Karl Lagerfeld, who showed flower headbands and delicate necklaces at Chanel, while others went the wacky route.

At Christian Dior, John Galliano’s models sported wands and purple wigs.

Hats were a favorite this season, from veiled looks to wings, wigs and mops.

Meanwhile, Oscar de la Renta piled it on at Balmain, with lavish belts, earrings, necklaces and hair combs, all from Fred Leighton.

Some designers took accessories into new realms. For instance, Chanel bracelets encircled the hand, rather than the wrist, and Jean Paul Gaultier designed a bag that morphed into a hat.

Here’s a look at the haute offerings.
