“Mediterranean mixed with American b-boys,” is how Berlin-based men’s wear designer Sissi Goetze summed up her collection. The black pants and loose-cut blue shorts with elastic waists and vertical stripes down the leg were certainly break-dance-appropriate. The Mediterranean touch came via the prints Goetze created with close friend, illustrator Antonio Stella. A hibiscus pattern bloomed across a burgundy cotton jacket with matching pants, and flora met fauna on button-down shirts in pale and dark blue adorned with plants, animals and reclining ladies and gents in the style of Matisse cutouts.
Goetze offered a fresh take on men’s staples: comfy, high-waist gray cotton pants had an almost spongy appearance, and the classic white cotton shirt got a fresh look with tiered panels added to its front.
