CHICAGO — Isaac Mizrahi made his twice-yearly appearance at Ultimo to promote his spring line, but this time he had a camera crew in tow — filming a feature-length documentary about the designer called “Unzipped.”

Mizrahi said he’s gotten used to having a camera follow him around, but won’t know how he really feels about it until he sees the finished result this summer.

As for the trunk show, it racked up sales of about $100,000, with the most popular outfit built around loose-fitting pants with suspenders.

Mizrahi saluted the fearlessness of Chicago women, saying “they aren’t afraid of fashion or of looking too fabulous.”
