TEXWORLD USA MAKES A MOVE: Texworld USA has outgrown its first home. Messe Frankfurt, which organizes the show, announced that Texworld USA will move to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York for its third show taking place July 17-19. The first edition of the show last July drew 147 exhibitors from 13 countries. The second edition, which is running this week at the Penn Plaza Pavilion, has sold out, according to a statement from the company.

UNIFI LAUNCHES RECYCLED PERFORMANCE FIBER: Unifi Inc. has developed a process that allows moisture management and performance stretch characteristics to be added to its Repreve fiber, a recycled polyester fiber. The result, said the company, is the first 100 percent recycled yarn with “permanent performance benefits.” The company will launch the fiber under its aio, or all-in-one, product offering. The official name will be aio Repreve and will be unveiled at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City at the end of the month.

MOORE PROMOTIONS: Moore Company Textile Group has named Steve Perry vice president of sales, marketing, design and customer service for its Darlington Fabrics Corp. unit. Andrew Dreher has been appointed to the same post for George C. Moore Co., George C. Moore Co. de El Salvador and Flexico Inc. In addition, Pete Johnson has been appointed vice president of engineering for the Moore Company Textile Group.
