Milliners would rejoice at the scene of the annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, recently held at the Dallas Arboretum. Hundreds of women donned fancy spring hats, some of which were crafted especially for the occasion, the botanical garden’s biggest fund-raiser. The Kate in Wonderland diorama — complete with the Queen of England, Princes William and Harry, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey — easily clinched the prize for “most outlandish hat.”
Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, racing enthusiasts attended Derby Day at Sydney’s Royal Randwick, where guests opted for mostly black-and-white dresses, accented with bright accessories including quite a variety of outstanding hats. The most popular detail though: glossy manes of long hair à la Royal-in-waiting, Kate Middleton.
