DIOR’S DARLING: Dior’s celebrity makeup artist, Pati Dubroff, definitely has drawing power.
At a recent personal appearance at Nordstrom’s Bellevue, Wash., location, Dubroff headlined a four-day makeup artist event, which did $63,000 over the course of the event, with $27,000 of that figure produced in one day, when Dubroff hosted three master class sessions at the store.
“We tried an exciting new format here with Pati using her talent and expertise as a teacher in a classroom,” said Terry Darland, senior vice president of marketing, sales and education for Dior. “She had three sessions totally booked and we had a 100 percent show rate. The customers loved the intimacy and learned a lot from Pati.” The brand has nine additional Dubroff personal appearances scheduled for 2006; the next is slated for February at Saks Fifth Avenue’s Manhattan flagship.
