Trussardi and luxury children’s wear manufacturer Pinco Pallino SpA have signed a five-year licensing agreement for the production and distribution of the Trussardi Junior collection. The agreement starts with the spring-summer 2014 season, which will be shown at the Pitti Bimbo trade fair in Florence from June 27 to 29.

“Our brand is known for its lifestyle and a passion for excellence, and this is the spirit behind our agreement with Pinco Pallino,” said Trussardi Group president and chief executive officer Beatrice Trussardi. “We’re convinced that this new project will perfectly express the values and originality of Trussardi style.”

“Our strategy is to bring the Trussardi Junior brand into the premium segment through the correct positioning of its image and a well-placed distribution strategy,” said Pinco Pallino ceo Gaetano Sallorenzo.

Pinco Pallino, which also produces the I Pinco Pallino kid’s line, was founded in 1980 by Imelde and Stefano Cavalleri, and since 2010 the company has been part of the Fondo Opera private equity fund, owned by Opea SGR SpA. Worldwide, there are about 20 I Pinco Pallino monobrand stores, and the label is also available in 350 multibrand and department stores, with Russia, the Middle East and Asia as key markets outside Italy. In January, Pinco Pallino announced an agreement with Lunar Capital establishing a joint venture, with plans to expand across China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Singapore and Taiwan.

The Trussardi Junior line launched in 1983 and was previously produced by Confezioni Supergin SpA and later Idea SpA, which manufactured the most recent fall-winter 2013-14 collection.
