NEW YORK — Richard Tyler was on hand last week to greet Bloomingdale’s shoppers at the retailer’s new boutique for Anne Klein, which racked up $65,000 from its opening late Wednesday through Saturday.
On Thursday morning, Tyler and his wife and business partner, Lisa Trafficante, hosted a breakfast for about 60 people at the store, followed by a fashion show of 35 summer outfits — 13 exclusive to Bloomingdale’s. They also chatted with customers in the shop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bestsellers included a green bamboo-print sheer georgette double-breasted jacket, $535, and matching drawstring pants, $335, which sold five pieces each; a lightweight wool black tuxedo jacket, $975, and matching trousers, $535, which sold six pieces each, and a white cotton pique double-breasted vest, $315, which sold 14 pieces.
The fourth-floor shop, adjacent to the Donna Karan and Calvin Klein boutiques, is 1,400 square feet.
