NEW YORK — The annual Femmy Awards will add some celebrity style to its gala cocktail and dinner reception on Feb. 6, when actress Vivica A. Fox hosts the innerwear industry event.

Fox, who coproduces and stars in the Lifetime series “Missing,” is best known for her roles in motion pictures “Kill Bill,” “Two Can Play That Game” and “Soul Food.” She recently participated in the third season of ABC’s hit show “Dancing With the Stars.” Fox will also appear in the sixth season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

The Femmy event, which honors executives and companies that have made significant contributions to the intimate apparel industry, will be staged at the Pier Sixty Ballroom at the Chelsea Piers here. Presented by The Underfashion Club Inc., the event raises funds that enable the organization to support scholarship awards, internships and grants programs. These efforts bring to life the organization’s credo, “Education today for a better industry tomorrow.”

Honorees will be The Carole Hochman Design Group, licensee for Betsey Johnson, Oscar de la Renta and Lauren Ralph Lauren innerwear, to be represented by Carole Hochman, president and director of design, and chief executive officer, Neal Hochman; Neiman Marcus, to be represented by executive vice president of women’s apparel Ann Stordahl, and Elastic Fabrics of America, to be represented by Jim Robbins, president and ceo.

Richard Murray, president of Wacoal America, the U.S. arm of Wacoal Japan, will receive the inaugural Humanitarian Award for his community service and work with charities. The recipient of the Innovation Award will be announced that evening.

The event will also feature a Student Design Contest that will display designs from students attending the Fashion Institute of Technology. The display is voted upon the night of the gala by guests and three winners will be awarded scholarships.
