A LA MODA: Moda Operandi has a new address in London: a former stable block on a cobbled street behind the Lanesborough Hotel in Belgravia. Lauren Santo Domingo, cofounder of the online fashion retailer, said it’s a welcome addition to the company.
“We were regularly getting on planes to show our customers the collections, and a lot of our orders were coming from London,” she said during a walk-through of the space that’s been designed by Fran Hickman and decked out in a palette of blush pink, white and fawn.
On Friday, Santo Domingo and her team hosted a dinner at Café Royal with guests including Poppy Delevingne, Mary Charteris, Sophia Hesketh, Alexa Chung, Mario Testino and Tallulah Harlech, while, on Monday, Emilia Wickstead will be the first designer to see customers in the space and show off her spring runway collection. Isa Arfen is slated to do the same on Tuesday, while designs from Zac Posen, Thom Browne and Giambattista Valli Couture are all on their way to the new space. The showroom, which spans 2,650 square feet over two floors, is the retailer’s second, after Moda Salon, in New York.
