BEEN AROUND THE WORLD: The British Council and the British Fashion Council are staging the annual International Fashion Showcase, which spotlights 110 emerging designers from 24 countries, from Lithuania to Trinidad and Tobago. Each static presentation at the Brewer Street Car Park sees designers play with textures, silhouettes, patterns and textiles to narrate their own cultural story.
The diverse talents “use fashion as an international language to translate their countries’ values and craftsmanship, and each year the interest both from exhibitors and the public grows,” said Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council.
The showcase is in its fourth year, and runs until Feb. 24. On Sunday, Feb. 22 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, the BFC will give awards to the best curator, designer, and country that showcases the best fashion talent overall.
