Barneys Bash: “Yeah, it all worked out,” Alex Katz shrugged on Wednesday night. The 87-year-old was leaning against a railing on Barney’s ninth floor. The space was congested with shoppers, admirers and Barneys brass all there to toast the designer on his capsule collection for the store in partnership with Art Production Fund (25% of sales from the capsule will benefit the charity). “I just made some sketches and they did the rest,” he said of his process. The lineup — a black and white home goods range retailing from $28 to $1400 — is for sale through Sept 3. “I like the napkins best,” he said, pointing to the set of floral printed linens. “I need the duvet cover,” Casey Fremont said later. “It’s the perfect statement, isn’t it?”
