LATIN FEVER: Alexandre Birman hosted a celebration Saturday night at No Club in Paris with retail partner Montaigne Market.
The soirée fused Latin flare with French “je ne sais quoi,” according to the luxury cobbler. “The French connection with Brazil is something that has worked for centuries,” Birman said between greeting attendees and proffering drinks.
The event felt more like a Brazilian house party than a typical fashion cocktail as guests such as Francisco Costa, Jonathan Newhouse, model Daria Strokous, Candela Novembre and Liliane Jossua of Montaigne Market grooved to pop hits and sipped caipirinhas.
Emma Miller, Maria Buccellati, Christina Pitanguy, singer Goldilocks and Tamu McPherson wore Birman’s signature Clarita sandal while dancing in the venue bedecked in modern art.
“Besides all the problems we have in our country,” Birman said in reference to corruption charges against President Dilma Rousseff, “We are happy people — we love fashion, we love shoes.”
