ALEXIS BITTAR OPENS MORE DOORS: Alexis Bittar’s 2013 is off to a good start. Following the launch of an exclusive collection for Bloomingdale’s earlier this month and a collaboration with Phillip Lim on jewelry for his runway show Feb. 12, the brand opened two more stores over the weekend. The jewelry label’s eighth and ninth stores, located at 410 Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side in New York and in Greenwich, Conn., are 900 and 1,430 square feet each, considerably bigger than most of the brand’s existing stores.

“We’re gearing up for other products — for the bridge line and eventual handbag line,” Bittar said, adding that going forward, stores will range from about 1,000 to 1,600 square feet to accommodate the new categories that will launch late this year. Bittar just returned from Miami, where he is scouting space for a future location. He revealed that the next three doors will be Miami, Las Vegas and Atlanta.
