NEW DEALS: Contemporary brands Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet and AG will plant new flags in the ground in Orange County.
The two brands have inked leases at the high-end outdoor center Fashion Island, owned by real estate firm Irvine Company of Newport Beach, Calif., which also owns the Irvine Spectrum Center among other retail properties in addition to apartments, office towers and hotels.
Alice + Olivia is up first with its 35th store opening on Friday. The 2,000-square-foot store will carry the company’s ready-to-wear collection, shoes and accessories.
The space comes just in time for the holidays and then will shutter briefly so the company can make additional improvements to the space and add in art and furniture.
Alice + Olivia will be followed up by AG in the spring. It’s a win for Fashion Island, with the denim company set to shutter its door at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa to relocate to Newport Beach for its Orange County flagship. The new store will be located next to Alice + Olivia and totals about 2,000 square feet.
AG director of retail Sid Dey said the store would be modeled after its Beverly Hills flagship with custom millwork and fixtures.
“We have a loyal and fashionable customer base in Orange County, and we are incredibly [pleased] that Fashion Island will be home to our new flagship store within the area,” Dey said.
