QUICK CHANGE: In an unexpected turnaround following last week’s cancellation of Italy’s upcoming couture fashion week, on Wednesday AltaRoma sent an e-vite to press and buyers inviting them to the shows from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2.

The initial decision to cancel the January edition of the Roman event stemmed from a lack of public funding. According to media reports here, Rome’s municipality agreed to allocate 300,000 euros, or $361,692 at current exchange rate, to finance the fashion week. AltaRoma was not reachable for comment on Friday.
