B. SMITH FETED: Former model and restaurateur B. Smith was honored Monday by the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation at its fifth annual Fall Symposium & Luncheon at The Pierre in New York.

Smith, who publicly revealed her early-onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis in June, was presented with the Charles Evans Award for using her platform to promote public awareness and raise funds to combat Alzheimer’s disease. Those in attendance included Leonard A. Lauder, Paula Zahn, S. Epatha Merkerson, Debra Lee and Maurice DuBois.

Wearing a purple dress, the official color of Alzheimer’s Awareness and National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, Smith accepted her award with her husband and longtime business partner Dan Gasby by her side.
