COOPER UNION: The fashion crowd is notoriously tough — but is it more challenging to navigate than a natural catastrophe or a country on the verge of a revolution? On June 6, Anderson Cooper will find out for himself. The CNN anchor has been tapped to host the 2011 CFDA Awards, which will take place at Alice Tully Hall that night. Cooper will have plenty of ground to cover that night. As in previous years, it is expected to feature a mix of celebrities and fashion players, including Lady Gaga, who will accept the Fashion Icon Award, and Marc Jacobs, this year’s recipient of the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Awards.
