BING’S BIG DAY: Danish blogger, model and designer Anine Bing on Friday will open a 650-square-foot store at 330 Bleecker Street in Manhattan’s West Village. It will be her second U.S. unit.
Bing, who unveiled a flagship in Los Angeles in the fall, designs ready-to-wear, outerwear, lingerie, handbags, shoes, sunglasses and fine jewelry. She started her collection 18 months ago and has amassed an online following for her e-commerce site through her popular blog, where she riffs about her hair, her children and date nights with her husband. And if her life weren’t busy enough, Bing still finds the time to be the lead singer and songwriter for the band Kill Your Darlings.
Bing’s prices range from $49 for a ribbed tank top to $1,999 for an 18-karat gold horn necklace. The bohemian-inspired collection features jeans and leather pants in various colors, fits and price points, from $149 for relaxed fit jeans to $999 for a loose fit leather style. There’s an oversize gray wool coat for $499, a black silk dress, $299, a ribbed knit sweater, $299 and a perforated leather handbag with gunmetal accents, $1,2999.
“New York is such a great city,” said Bing. “It’s a dream come true to have a brick-and-mortar presence in one of the greatest fashion districts.”
Jason Turner of Zelnick & Co., who represented Anine Bing, said the designer was attracted to Bleecker Street’s charm and co-tenants such as Intermix and Marc Jacobs.
