THREE’S A CHARM: Continuing its collaboration with the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, French children’s wear brand Petit Bateau is launching a collection designed by Annelie Schubert.
The French-German designer, who impressed the jury of the 30th-anniversary edition of the Hyères festival last April with her sculptural silhouettes, has designed a capsule collection of four items for women that will be sold in select Petit Bateau stores worldwide starting on April 27.
To be unveiled at this year’s Hyères festival, which runs from April 21 to 25, the range features two models of draped T-shirts, a draped dress and a striped jersey with padded shoulders.
“I wanted to work with Petit Bateau’s trademarks and put a couture twist,” the 29-year-old designer told WWD. “I was interested in playing on the contrast between draped and structured [pieces].”
Prices range from $65 at current exchange, for a T-shirt to $165, for a women’s dress.
Schubert is the third winner of the Première Vision Grand Prize at the French festival to have created a collection for Petit Bateau, following Satu Maaranen in 2014 and Kenta Matsushige last year.
