WARM WISHES: Banana Republic has teamed with United Airlines and P.A.C.E., a Gap Inc. program, that supports the education of female garment workers worldwide.
As part of #BRMakeItMatter social initiative, Banana Republic and United Airlines are giving cashmere blankets to all passengers traveling today to and from Newark, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Passengers are encouraged to share a social post about what matters to them this holiday season. With each post, tweet and share using #BRMakeItMatter, Banana Republic will donate $1 to the CARE organization. CARE is a partner of P.A.C.E. that supports providing working women with the skills needed to advance both personally and in the workplace. With #BRMakeItMatter, the brand hopes to donate in excess of $100,000.
Launched in 2007 by Gap Inc., P.A.C.E. (Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement) is an education program that offers life-skill classes to female garment workers. The curriculum includes up to 80 hours in subjects such as communication skills, financial literacy, time and stress management, problem solving and decision-making. Since its inception, more than 45,000 women in 12 countries have learned these skills.
