SOUTHERN EXPOSURE: Beams, one of Japan’s coolest multi-brand retailers plans to open its first store in Southeast Asia on March 27 in Bangkok, Thailand. The store will be located on the first floor of a new mall called EmQuartier, which Beams said is anticipated to be a “groundbreaking fashion and urban lifestyle shopping complex.” It will offer a selection of men’s and women’s casual clothing, accessories and footwear, spread across about 1,830 square feet of retail space. The interiors will feature elements of wood, stone and glass.
Beams currently has a total of 151 stores across Asia. While the majority of these are located in Japan, the retailer also has 13 locations in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei. The Bangkok store will be run as a franchise by The Mall Group.
“Bangkok’s economic growth and emerging consumer interests make an ideal opportunity for Beams to introduce its fashion and lifestyle concepts,” Beams said.
