BERGDORF BOUND: London-based Anya Hindmarch has opened an outpost of her bespoke business at Bergdorf Goodman, with a new 220-square-foot Anya Hindmarch Bespoke space that debuted Tuesday on the seventh floor. It is the first time Hindmarch’s bespoke service has had a presence outside the designer’s own brick and mortar stores, and will offer customers at Bergdorf’s the opportunity to have their names, handwritten messages and drawings embossed onto the designer’s leather goods by a resident craftsman. Hindmarch said that Bergdorf Goodman’s “timeless” quality sat well with her label’s bespoke service. “[Bergdorf Goodman] seamlessly blends old and new, a sensibility that sits at the heart of bespoke,” noted the designer.

Andrew Mandell, vice president, divisional merchandise manager for decorative home and Little BG at Bergdorf Goodman, said that the service would offer the store’s customers “a completely unique experience.” Hindmarch has worked with furniture designer Martino Gamper, whose work was exhibited at London’s Serpentine Sackler Gallery earlier this year, to create the space.

Designs that customers can have personalized range from made-to-measure men’s wallets, journals and custom-made handbags, to the Ultimate Box, which features drawers lined with photographs printed on satin linings. And as an another personalized detail, Hindmarch’s bespoke products are all packaged in a box embossed with the recipient’s name.
