MEN’S WEAR IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Bloomingdale’s continues to show its support for the men’s designer industry.
For the third edition of New York Fashion Week: Men’s, the stand-alone fashion showcase spearheaded by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the department store turned the coveted windows of its 59th Street flagship over to the men’s industry.
The retailer partnered with local artist Allison Eden to create a tribute to the week, and while the shows are for spring, the windows are featuring fall fashions, which are about to hit retail.
Among the designers featured are Rag + Bone, Todd Snyder, Public School, Marc Jacobs and Billy Reid. Ironically, many of the designers on display — with the exception of Snyder — are not actually showing this week, but they’re still important players in men’s wear.
Allison Eden specializes in custom, handcrafted glass mosaics in bold patterns and colors. It uses only recycled, domestic materials and manufactures in Brooklyn.
The windows will remain in place through July 18.
