FROM ONLINE TO IN LINE: Bloomingdale’s is getting its feet wet with beauty services.  On Monday night, the retailer hosted a VIP cocktail event to celebrate its latest beauty pop-up with online beauty booking platform, Vênsette. The partnership, which will provide makeup applications with Lancôme for both the company’s clients and Bloomingdale’s customers from September 20 to 22, is an experiment to see the response for offering services through a brick and mortar.

Clad in Valentino, Vênsette’s founder and chief executive Lauren Remington Platt explained the concept behind the company’s first offline offering. “Our philosophy is that women are willing to pay for the makeup service and not just for product if they know what they are going to get,” said Remington Platt. “We held off on hair because we think that’s pushing the boundaries in terms of what the consumers are ready for.”
