BOOK DEAL: Chloé was one of many brands, including Alexander McQueen and Acne, that took advantage of the art set’s descent on London for the Frieze Art Fair to throw a party. The French brand’s knees-up was one of the first to be thrown at the new Zaha Hadid-designed Serpentine Sackler Gallery. The brand was celebrating a new book about its history, “Chloé Attitudes,” by Sarah Mower and art-directed by Marc Ascoli, who were both in attendance.

The guest list was an impressive roll call from the contemporary art world: Damien Hirst, Serpentine Gallery codirectors Julia Peyton Jones and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Museum of Modern Art director Klaus Biesenbach, MoMA president emerita Agnes Gund and artist Adrián Villar Rojas, whose work was on show in the gallery. Joining them were the likes of Emilia Wickstead, models Lara Mullen and Bonnie Chen, stylists Julia Sarr-Jamois and Valentine Fillol-Cordier, actress Jenna Coleman and soul singer Lianne La Havas.

“It just feels right to do this now, to publish an entire history of the brand,” said Chloé creative director Clare Waight Keller. “It’s the 60th anniversary of the brand, and I think people know about the recent decade of the brand, but very few know about its full history. And it’s nice to be able to do it while Gaby [Aghion, the brand’s founder] is still around.”

“Chloé Attitudes” is published by Rizzoli and will retail for $85.
