BOTTEGA’S NEW HOME: Bottega Veneta celebrated the opening of its Melrose Place concept store in Los Angeles Wednesday night with a cocktail party hosted by Architectural Digest’s Margaret Russell.

The 2,727-square-foot store, the first of its kind for the house, is a curated gallerylike concept featuring a concise collection of home, men’s and women’s leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, jewelry, gifts and fragrance. The ivy-covered facade of the building remains the same while the interior, designed by Bottega’s creative director Tomas Maier, features all white materials such as frosted glass, transparent resin embedded with mesh, painted steel, lacquered wood and high-pile felt.

“It looks so traditional outside and when you walk in it’s like a spaceship; it’s fabulous,” said Russell. “Tomas knows exactly what he wants. The range seems varied but it’s very spot-on. There is a purity to his vision and it flows through everything,” she added, noting that she plans to get some of the glassware for her new apartment. Also in attendance were actress Rhona Mitra, stylist Petra Flannery and Cameron Silver.
