BREAKING BREAD: Oh, to have been a fly on the wall — or, better yet, on a caviar-topped potato. Fashion folk in Paris have been buzzing about a private dinner held Thursday at Caviar Kaspia organized by Dior that had among its guests one Nicolas Ghesquière, the former Balenciaga designer said to be under the watchful and admiring eye of luxury titan Bernard Arnault, who controls Dior along with the luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

Sources said the dinner was cohosted by Camille Miceli, Dior’s artistic director for costume jewelry, and Tar magazine’s Coco Brandolini to fete a shoot that Miceli styled for the title. Dior chief Sidney Toledano, Delphine Arnault and Azzedine Alaïa were also said to be among those present. One guest described the event as having the atmosphere of a “family dinner.”
