ARTISTIC ACHIEVERS: The British Fashion Council will honor a host of industry figures, recognizing their creative efforts and influence at the fashion awards to be held at the Royal Albert Hall next week.
Some 32 people will receive the accolade, spanning from photographers such as Mario Testino, Nick Knight, Tim Walker, Mert Atlas and Marcus Piggott to stylists including Katie Grand and Edward Enninful and hairstylists Sam McKnight and Guido Palau, as well as makeup artists such as Pat McGrath and Charlotte Tilbury.
Others who will be honored include Alasdair McLellan, Alastair McKimm, Ashley Brokaw, Camilla Lowther, Camilla Nickerson, David Sims, Gary Card, Glen Luchford, Harley Weir, Isamaya Ffrench, Jamie Hawkesworth, Joe McKenna, Karen Langley, Lotta Volkova, Lucia Pica, Patrick Kinmonth, Paul Hanlon, Ronnie Cooke Newhouse, Shona Heath, Sylvia Farago and Tyrone Lebon.
The annual event, held in association with Swarovski, honors companies and designers in the industry. This year’s awards night will also be the inaugural annual fund-raiser for the British Fashion Council Education Foundation charity. The charity is in aid of fashion students who are studying for B.A. and M.A. degrees at U.K. universities.
“A key part of our new focus for the fashion awards is ensuring we recognize all of the industry’s key players,” said Natalie Massenet, chairman British Fashion Council.
“Thirty-two years after giving our first award, this new approach means recognizing excellence in both business and design, as well as putting a spotlight on creatives working outside both of these spheres. The 32 Creative Influencers to be celebrated this year are part of a community of innovative talent that is the backbone of our industry, and makes it one of the most dynamic and exciting to work in.”
