LONDON – The British Fashion Council has revealed the 10 emerging men’s wear brands that will receive the Topman-sponsored NewGen Men support at London Collections: Men in the spring 2017 season.
Three new designers were added to the lineup for spring — Grace Wales Bonner, who will receive support for a salon show; Phoebe English, and Kiko Kostadinov, each of whom will receive money for presentations.
These designers will join the seven existing recipients: Alex Mullins, Bobby Abley, Cottweiler, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Liam Hodges and Pieter.
Designers who were awarded support for the past six seasons include Agi & Sam, Astrid Anderson and Nasir Mazhar. They have now graduated from the BFC-run initiative.
Launched in 2009, NewGen Men has helped designers showcase their collections, and offered financial support and business mentoring. Previous NewGen Men winners include Christopher Raeburn, Christopher Shannon, James Long, J.W. Anderson, Katie Eary, Lee Roach, Lou Dalton, Martine Rose, Sibling and Shaun Samson.
London Collections: Men’s spring shows run from June 10 to 13.
