The Patron's Lunch Street Party, Queen Elizabeth II's 90th Birthday Celebrations, London, UK - 12 Jun 2016

RAIN ON THE PARADE: Typically wet English summer weather greeted Queen Elizabeth and her well-wishers on Sunday during the big picnic on The Mall, capping three days of official birthday celebrations for the 90-year-old monarch.

The road was festooned with Union Jack flags and thousands of members of the public, most of them representing the 600 charities of which the monarch is patron. Guests of the Patron’s Lunch dined on food from Marks & Spencer wicker hampers set up at tables.

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh were driven through The Mall and waved to the crowds while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Prince Harry and met with guests and members of the public outside of Buckingham Palace. The duchess donned a graphic blue Roksanda dress.

On Saturday, the duke and duchess joined the royal family and took part in the Trooping of the Colour parade, which celebrates the monarch’s official birthday each year in June.
