SHIFTING SITES: Accessories are where the action is on Rodeo Drive. De Beers is leaving a prime spot on the corner of Brighton Way and Rodeo Drive that it’s occupied since 2005, and Bulgari is said to be moving in. “Like all retail brands we continually review our network to adapt and upgrade it where necessary and we do so in all markets,” said a De Beers spokeswoman, who added, “Given that, we are looking to release our Rodeo Drive retail space at the end of the first 2012 quarter to another LVMH brand that can make better use of the distinctive nature of the Rodeo Drive space. Our U.S. business is growing strongly and we remain deeply committed to the U.S. market.” The current Bulgari location, at 201 N. Rodeo Drive, is likely becoming a Louis Vuitton men’s store. Viennese fine jeweler Frey Wille is opening a 1,000-square-foot store at N. 441 Rodeo Dr. on Feb. 24, and luggage firm Tumi is opening a 3,000-square-foot store this summer at 430 N. Rodeo Dr. Those stores follow the recent opening of another fine jeweler, Pomellato, which will celebrate its entry into Rodeo Drive on Monday with a party hosted by face of the brand Tilda Swinton.
