BY DESIGN: New York City’s ever-increasing calendar of fashion-related talks and panels has a new addition — “Diseño: Fashion” Oct. 15 at El Museo del Barrio. Maria Cornejo, Francisco Costa and Narciso Rodriguez will chat about their influences, creative processes and inspirations at the Upper East Side museum. Moderated by NBC’s Natalie Morales, the event will kick off a series of public programs created to celebrate Latino designers that is being presented by the Cooper Hewitt and El Museo del Barrio. Visitors of all ages are welcome to this month’s free talk but advance registration is required.

To spotlight the impact of Latinos on American design, the “Diseño” series will feature an array of leading figures in such different design disciplines including comic books and interactive design, as well as hands-on workshops at the Cooper Hewitt.
