BY GEORGE: Century 21 Department Stores has tapped George Kotsiopoulos, the celebrity stylist and cohost of E network’s “Fashion Police,” to be its first spokesman. He’ll be on the off-price retailer’s e-commerce site launching Nov. 1 offering tips on trends and products and advice for the holiday season. He’ll also be on Century 21’s Facebook page and in other social media, though not in any ads. The partnership runs through December.

“George’s amazing energy and credibility align perfectly with our vision,” said Aliza Perruzzi, Century 21’s director of marketing. She said it was important “to provide the customer with an approachable guide dedicated to the latest in fall and holiday fashion” and that a spokesperson would enhance the shopping experience.

Century 21 has been seeking to raise its profile. The company operates a flash-sale site but launches the regular e-commerce site next month. Also, the off-pricer has been experimenting with a men’s floor at its Paramus, N.J., store that’s been renovated and remerchandised by lifestyles; recently expanded the Manhattan flagship at 22 Cortlandt Street to six levels from three, and in a couple of years will open a second unit in Brooklyn, bringing the chain to eight stores.
