CALLING ALL WRITERS: Prada is inviting its fans to take pen to paper in a writing competition organized for the second time with Italian publishing house Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Editore. The Prada Journal project kicked off last year, when the fashion brand — building off its eyewear line created with Luxottica — encouraged writers to submit stories relating to how vision shapes everyday experience. The company received more than 1,300 entries from around the world, in languages including English and Italian, but also French, Chinese, Japanese and Turkish, and announced five winners in September 2013. The top entries later appeared in an e-book.

The next crop of Prada Journal participants is being asked to envision the future, focusing on the concept of transformation, and writers can upload original stories of between 10 and 20 pages to Prada’s Web site from today through June 11. The number of winners is not predetermined, but the company said it will choose the best submissions by the end of the year.
