HOT STUFF: Calvin Klein Jeans and hosted one hot affair on Thursday evening to showcase their first ever collaboration, a capsule collection of nine pieces called Calvin Klein Jeans x The Re-Issue Project.

Guests including Lottie Moss — the face of the collection — and its photographer Michael Avedon were joined by the likes of Giles Deacon, Tallulah Harlech, Daisy Lowe, Abbey Clancy and Amber Le Bon at an art gallery in London’s Fitzrovia — and on the pavement outside — on one of the most sweltering days of the year.

The soaring mercury, however, wasn’t deflating anyone’s mood. “This whole project was decided over cocktails — how nice is that?” said Kevin Carrigan, global creative director of Calvin Klein Platinum Label, Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear. “It was unplanned, organic, just two friends getting together,” he added, referring to his meeting with Justin O’Shea, buying director of

The collection launched Wednesday on the Munich, Germany-based site, and about one-third sold out within the first 12 hours, according to Mytheresa. O’Shea was decked in a necktie with an American flag print and somehow managed not to perspire.

“I love America,” he said. “Authenticity, blue jeans, girls who look naturally bad-ass. Put that together and you get Calvin Klein.” O’Shea said the collection was for “girls today who dress down to dress up,” and added that a lot of the customers buying so far are aged 30 to 37, with clothing from Celine, Balenciaga and Acne in their closets.

Calvin Klein is just the beginning for Mytheresa. O’Shea told WWD that he and Nicholas Kirkwood are in talks about an exclusive capsule collection for the site that will likely bow in April or May of next year.
