HEAR ME ROAR: Cara Delevingne, who famously has a lion tattooed on her index finger, is stepping up to defend endangered wildlife species.
The British model and actress revealed on Instagram on Friday that she was the inaugural ambassador of I’m Not a Trophy, an organization founded by French artist and photographer Arno Elias to create greater awareness of the rapid extinction of endangered species around the world.
“I am so proud to be an ambassador of @imnotatrophy organization to create greater awareness in the malicious acts of trophy hunting and poaching of endangered species!” Delevingne wrote under a picture of her posing naked, her skin covered with an image of a leopard.
It was one of five visuals showing her bare, apart from the photographs superimposed on her body.
“This imagery of Cara Delevingne with endangered species printed on her skin is a great driving force because she does not only deliver a message to address the memorial of these hunted species but to empower young women,” the organization said on its web site.
“These photographs show the freedom and liberation of women and the voice to make an impact on a greater cause,” it added.
Delevingne, whose zodiac sign is Leo, drew the ire of animals rights campaigners last year when she posed with a wild lion cub at a press conference to unveil her role as ambassador to Swiss watch brand Tag Heuer.
