Real men don’t need gyms. That’s the message from Carhartt, the American workwear brand, which partnered with World Series MVP and San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner on its spring 2015 ad campaign.
The commercial features Bumgarner doing chores around his North Carolina ranch wearing Carhartt’s Force apparel, along with on-the-job, blue-collar workers. The brand pokes fun at the current hype around the activewear arena with this tag line: “These guys don’t need Spin class. They are the working class.”
“This year’s campaign and tag line celebrates the notion that united we outwork them all,” said Carhartt’s creative director Brian Bennett. “We worked with baseball star Madison Bumgarner and his family to see how they tackle ranch life as a family and crew.”
