WHO’S THAT GIRL?: J. Mendel was the second to last show of New York Fashion Week for newcomer Caroline Vreeland. She was feeling a little sleepy (“Next time I’m not going to do so many shows…”), so she wore a neon blue and pink fur jacket from the label for an extra dose of energy. “It’s dope, right?” she asked. “It’s giving me a colorful moment in my life.” The singer—and great-granddaughter of Diana Vreeland—has had a busy week, attending 3.1 Phillip Lim, Altuzarra and Tommy Hilfiger, among others, which concludes with Marc Jacobs on Thursday. “I met Katie Grand from Love magazine—I did their Advent calendar and then they put out [one of my music] videos. She told me, your great-grandmother has a big influence on Marc Jacobs right now, you should be at the show,” she said. “So they emailed my team and I get to go. I’m stoked about that.”

While in New York, Vreeland has also taken label meetings to shop her first album, which she’s hoping will drop this summer. “We have maybe 30 or 40 songs we’re sitting on. But once we decide where we’re going with it, then we’re going to put the album out.” Asked if she’d ever follow in her great-grandmother’s footsteps, she responded:  “I have a fashion legacy in my family, so I’m lucky in that regard to be invited [to fashion week], but for me it’s just exciting as a singer to be asked to show up places and for the designers to let me wear the clothes. All of it is great press for my music, so that’s my main goal.”
