CASTING A WEB: The latest component of Balenciaga to get a reboot under Alexander Wang’s creative vision is its Web site. Balenciaga.com relaunched Wednesday after a year-long redesign, for which Wang collaborated with Fantasy Interactive. Yoox Group is a partner.
The sleek homepage is black-based (no surprise there) and features full-bleed images of the spring runway show. To the left is a vertical navigation scroll featuring women’s and men’s e-commerce, collection look books and a tab called La Maison, which leads to news, campaigns and Balenciaga history. The e-commerce collections are presented on 360-degree looks and customers can schedule in-store appointments online. Compatible with all devices, the site links to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and is available in seven languages.
