FASHION MEETS ART: Chanel takes its fashion to London.
The French Maison will stage an exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in fall, WWD has learned.
Entitled “Mademoiselle Privé,” the show will highlight the brand’s haute couture skills, the re-issued 1932 “Bijoux de Diamants” high-jewelry collection, the only fine jewelry ever created by Coco Chanel, which debuted at the house’s fall couture show earlier this month, and put a spotlight on Chanel No. 5.
Stretching over three floors and spanning the gamut from the history of Gabrielle Chanel’s inspirations to Karl Lagerfeld’s take on the house’s unique codes, the exhibit is slated to run from Oct. 13 to Nov. 1.
