The British accessories designer, who graduated from Cordwainers in 2004, studied a footwear design course and worked at Emanuel Ungaro and Giambattista Valli before launching her eponymous label in 2007.
This is the first footwear scholarship initiative as well as the first full B.A. scholarship to launch as part of the BFC Education Foundation, for the school. One student from the B.A. Honors Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Innovation course will be awarded the scholarship along with a paid internship at Charlotte Olympia. This scholarship will be available for first-year students to apply. Handpicked by the course director, a selection of students will be reviewed by a panel of fashion industry judges.
Cordwainers at London College of Fashion is a 125-year old program training students in footwear and accessories. Previous alumni include Jimmy Choo and Beatriz Ong.
“I am very happy to be giving something back to a school which provided me with the skills and confidence to create by own luxury brand and build a career in an industry I love,” said Charlotte Olympia Dellal.
