CHIC KICK: Just because it’s sports doesn’t mean it can’t be chic. Louis Vuitton is dressing this year’s World Cup trophy, which, on the final day of the monthlong tournament, will travel to the stadium of Maracana in Rio de Janeiro in a custom-made trunk designed by the French firm.
“The case opens from the front and at the top to allow the trophy to be easily removed when, at the final game on July 13, it will be delivered to the captain of the winning game,” the French leather goods company communicated.

This is Louis Vuitton’s second consecutive collaboration with FIFA, soccer’s governing body.
Special orders, of which there are around 450 each year, represent a core business of the 150-year old trunkmaker.
Louis Vuitton also crafted the case that holds the silver ewer of the America’s Cup, billed world’s oldest sporting trophy.
