TEIGEN TALKS: On a 12-hour touchdown in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Chrissy Teigen braved the triple-digit temperature with a glass of white wine at the launch party for Piperlime’s new Web site. The 28-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit model quickly switched to water, though, in preparation for her XOXO photo shoot the next morning in New York. As if she’s not busy enough, she’s also choosing clothing for Piperlime as a celebrity style influencer, writing, cooking and visiting husband John Legend while he’s on tour.

“There’s no [easy] way to do it. You just have to appreciate the small amount of longevity you have in this career and take it,” Teigen said about her packed schedule. “I have such an appreciation for fashion, but I don’t really follow trends. That’s not because I’m a hipster. It’s because they never fit me right. I look stupid in trends — like loafers. I look like a f—ing idiot in loafers.”

The loafer-less but social media-savvy Teigen is the first of 25 guest editors, soon to include Poppy Delevingne, ZZ Ward and designer Claire Vivier, as part of the Gap Inc.-owned brand’s recent digital and marketing revamp, spearheaded by director of design and trend, Jamie Lewin.

“It’s like shopping the social feed of the girl who always gets it right, whoever that It girl is to you,” Lewin said.
