LONDON Christopher Kane is branching out into jeanswear with Los Angeles-based premium denim label J Brand.

The collaboration will launch as a capsule denim collection as part of Kane’s resort 2012 line.

The project comes after Kane and Jeff Rudes, founder and chief executive officer of J Brand, created a limited-edition Christopher Kane/J Brand jean last year as part of J Brand’s 5×5 project in support of young British design talent.

 “We have the potential to grow a very strong denim business,” stated Kane.
