SCHIFFER SAYS: Claudia Schiffer and Tse creative director Tina Lutz met up in London last week to put the finishing touches on their first capsule collection. The supermodel has signed up for a two-season deal that will debut this fall with 17 styles of cashmere and wool-blend knits. The knit dresses, cardigans, sweaters, pants and capes are offered in a variety of weights and stitches, which were inspired in part by David Hockney photographs from the Seventies
Fall borrows from traditions, scents and colors found in Schiffer’s countryside home in England, and is “anchored by my German heritage and inspired by the pebble beaches, beautiful sunsets and Fair Isles worn by our local fishermen,” she said, adding that the collection mixes hand-knit traditions such as intarsia and Aran. Lutz added, “We wanted to create a range of pieces that can easily be intermixed into our customer’s current wardrobe. Claudia’s designs were a natural fit with Tse’s aesthetic and her effortless style is apparent with each piece.”
This isn’t the first time Schiffer has tried her hand at knitwear: she had her own knit collection several years ago.
