The Coldwater Creek nameplate will be relaunched as a web and catalogue-only business.

Private equity firm Sycamore Partners acquired the intellectual property assets of the bankrupt women’s specialty retailer Coldwater Creek in June at a bankruptcy court auction. According to an individual familiar with Sycamore’s plans, the launch date will likely be sometime in November of this year. No stores are planned at this time.

The new direct-to-consumer business will be led by Brenda Koskinen, who is president and chief merchandising officer. She began in her new role earlier this month. Koskinen, who was once a buyer at Talbots, also advises Orchard Brands and Blair Corp.

The Coldwater operation, which is headquartered in the Boston area, is a standalone portfolio company of Sycamore. Other assets under Sycamore’s umbrella include Talbots, Hot Topic and the former Jones Group brands.
