DANCE FEVER: To celebrate their ongoing collaboration with New York City Ballet dancers Sara Mearns, Megan Fairchild, and Gretchen Smith with whom they designed a ballet flat line, Cole Haan hosted several fans of ballet and the brand on Tuesday night to see The 60th Anniversary production of George Balanchine’s “The Nutcracker.”
The dancers held a quick meet and greet with guests who convened in the Patron’s Lounge before they had to whisk off to their nights performances; Fairchild has a lead role in Broadway’s “On The Town” this season and Mearns danced the Dew Drop role in the flowers dance for the night performances. (Smith had a rare night off). Taking in the show was Anna Sophia Robb, legally sipping a champagne as she had just celebrated her 21st birthday the day before, while Jaime King bedecked in an Altuzarra white pantsuit and Lynn Ban rings with hubby Kyle Newman along side recalled her early dance experiences at Cherrie Anderson School of Dance in Omaha, NEB. “It would be a dream to dance Nutcracker. I danced all my life; dancing, modeling, acting all roads to the entertainment biz for me.”
Also taking in the winter dance spectacle was Mia Moretti along with her female art collective members Cleo Wade, Liza Voloshin, Kate Greer and Margot who revealed they will be heading to Washington, D.C. in March for a special piece in honor of Elaine De Kooning’s Portraits exhibition which will feature many never-before–seen works by the often overlooked spouse of artist Willem De Kooning.
