COMING FROM AMERICA: Forever 21 is joining the growing list of U.S. brands hoping to conquer the French market. The fast-fashion retailer indicated Thursday it would open its first store in France on Jan. 28 in the Vélizy 2 shopping mall on the outskirts of Paris. The Los Angeles-based brand has a network of more than 460 stores in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, South Korea and Japan, and has been developing its European business since opening in the U.K. in 2010.
Forever 21 executive vice president Larry Meyer stated: “Our business is primed for significant international growth this year. Vélizy is an ideal location and we are looking forward to expanding our business into Paris and other parts of France.”
Since the start of the year, Abercrombie & Fitch and Banana Republic have opened their first French units on Avenue des Champs-Elysées.
